My first live cricket match experience

When I watched a live match for the first time!

It was one of the best experience of my life when I watched first live match in the stadium. From that day Cricket became religion for me! It was India vs Australia world cup quarter final match and it was happened in my home city Ahmedabad. I was very excited when my dad told me that we are going to watch live cricket match. I didn’t sleep all the night before the match day.

Finally the match day came and I want to the stadium with my family and friends. I was very excited to watch my favorite players. Finally all the players came out and everyone was cheering, stadium was packed and not even one seat was empty. I fill bad when we lost the toss and Australian team choose batting. Their opening batsmen was Watson and Haddin. Both made 40 runs partnership when Ashwin took the first wicket of Watson in the 10th over. Then most successful batsman and the captain of the Australian cricket team Ricky Pointing came to for the batting. He was in the best form of his life and made 104 runs in just 118 balls. He made most runs in that match. At the end of 50th over Australia managed to make 260 runs for the loss of 6 wickets. It was good total for the world cup quarter final and they had very strong bowling attack.

So, the target for the India was 261 runs. Everyone was very excited. The best opening pair of Indian cricket was on the crease Virender Sehwag and the god of cricket Sachin Tendulkar. It was the last cricket world cup of Sachin and winning the world cup for India was his dream. I was very excited and supporting him, event I made tattoo of Indian flag on my face. They both made 44 runs when Sehwag got out in the 9th over bowled by Watson. In that match Sachin made 53 runs and got out in 19th over. I remember that when he got out it was pin drop silence in the stadium. Even Australian fan were supporting Sachin. Match became interesting when India loss its fifth wicket the captain MS Dhoni and the score was just 187 at the end of 37.3 overs. But the man in form was on the crease Yuvraj Singh. Yuvraj made 57 runs and won the match for India. He got very good support from Suresh Raina and he made valuable 34 runs in just 28 balls.

At the end India won the match and I was very happy. It was one of the most successful victory for Indian cricket team. Because at that time Australia was defending champion and beating them was everyone’s dream. After the match I was lucky and got the autograph form my favorite players Sachin and Yuvraj. Yuvraj Singh won man of match award.

We were talking about the match all the way home. It was amazing experience for me and I will remember it life time.

Above is the news highlight of that amazing match.
